I was born in 1983 in a poor village of the Ta-pieh Mountains which is at the border of three provinces and near Wuhan City, the capital of Hubei Province. There is an old saying about our village, Jiuxieshan (click here<\/a> to learn the location at Google Map). It’s said that a long time ago there was a Chan Master who carries two big heavy stone lions to go to Huangbaishan(Henan Province). Our village is a necessary route and so he needs to climb the mountain to pass through. He had rested nine times to make it happen. That’s how the name(Jiuxieshan) came from.<\/p>

Most of the people there didn’t have enough food when I was a few years old due to extreme poverty. When reaching the age of nine to ten, I began to help my parents to do things such as sweeping, washing dishes, washing clothes, cooking, chopping wood, herding cows and feeding pigs, etc. We don’t have a choice since this is the daily routine of 90% of teenagers in rural areas at that time.\u00a0 There is no exception. However, \u00a0peoples live and work in peace and happiness since everyone is almost in the same situation. I have had a wonderful time in that small village for more than 16 years.<\/p>

In 1997 I started junior high school in the town and began to learn English. I still remember very clearly that when I took my first exam, I just passed the English test. One day after the exam, Mr. Yang brought me to his office and told me that I did have the potentials to get higher scores and asked me to study harder. I had kept his words in mind, and since then, my English study achievement had been among the best in my class even in high school and college because I enjoy learning English. He wouldn’t know that his encouragement had lit the lamp and changed the life of that student since then. One day I will get back to my hometown and express my gratitude to Mr. Yang face-to-face.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
