Omni-directional Antenna Polarization
Polarization refers to the orientation of the electric field of the RF signal. Omni antennas can be designed with different polarization schemes to meet specific requirements:
Vertical Polarization: The electric field is oriented vertically. Common in many traditional communication systems.
Horizontal Polarization: The electric field is oriented horizontally. Often used to reduce interference with vertically polarized signals.
Dual Polarization: The antenna supports both vertical and horizontal or +/- 45 slant polarizations, often with separate ports for each. This is useful for MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems, improving signal robustness and capacity.
